We know our purpose has been to become the vessel for others by bringing up our joyful thoughts and then sending it out through the vehichle of laughter to our friends and family who would be filled by it. Though to be the vessel one must fill themselves and so each day we do just that imagining and visualizing  the joy.

Sometimes it brings along with it the feeling of the anticipation of Joy, sometimes it is the knowing of those we give it to and sometimes it is just about being in the moment of it all. That is where the opportunity comes to get cleanly out of the way and become the vessel that fills and spreads the laughter for all.

As of this date October 30, 2010 we have asked each day for more names and included them along. Today we have 145 names to add to our list that are logged into our hearts instead of this post. This month has been an experiment where we simply just held the names without a lot of fanfare and we did not read the list, we simply felt them adding a few new ones each day.

We will continue on in November as long as it feels good to do so. Join in the fun each day on your own terms, just put your hands over your heart feel the joy for those you love and allow their love to fill you and then simply begin to laugh expanding the arms outward as you laugh into your body filling it with joy.

We have discovered that one full minute of joy is equal to 300 laughs and on October 27th the 300th day of the year we figured this out that if you laughed a “HA” and did this 300 times one whole minute would elapse….how neat it was!

Laughing and feeling inspired in that moment germinates within the group setting and expands ten fold in the world touching the variety of people we touch and they touch. When we are spreading thoughts of inspiration to be joyful, we have lifted the consciousness to one of what is possible in the world and added greater dimension to the outcome.

 For those that we placed of loving concern to add double doses of joy and thoughts of vital well being, we wish you continued moments to thrive in. We thought we might add a name a day, though it is significant to note from the even this small gathering of people of intention we have spent this month laughing and bringing up the joy for

Celebrate our marvelous musical history as we reinvite the National Barn Dance back in through the passages of time to enjoy this growth of musical opportunity that began at the eighth street theatre in Chicago Illinois in 1933. One of the first American Country Music Radio programs that later resulted in the formation of the Grand Ole Opry. This weekly musical radio program was heard across the Midwest through broadcast, with stars producing on stage shows at the theatre and across the country in traveling shows. The National Barn Dance enthused and inspired listeners and recording hopefuls alike and brought Country and Western music into the forefront of the American music scene.

Be inspired by what we can do today that is new or unusual and follow the dreams of the heart. Let those dreams become our inspiration and intention and let the joy become the vehicle that moves it from passion to production. Let the end result be a product of well being, an accomplishment of vital proportions and a feeling or thing that recycles the joy back to give again. That is how we know that there is a positive truth in it. Enjoy the journey to and from joy!

Today celebrate the Adventurers among us as they inspire us to have our own adventures and take the leap of faith more often. It is the birthday of Horatio Nelson, known as Britain’s Greatest Naval hero. He inspired his men and left a reputation of personal valor that is remembered far beyond the stretches of Great Britain. Consider the adventures of the character of  Don Quixote which only mirror the journeys of Miguel De Cervantes, the creator of story and poem who also shares a birthday today. Sam Spade, a noteworthy character of Dashiell Hammett created for the Maltese Falcon went on to inspire the Radio show that aired from 1946- 1951 on this day and a host of personalities since.

Who could forget the singing cowboy who shares the same birthday, Gene Autry.  He put himself comfortably in many saddles from Music, Movies and the military and as a memorable part of America’s pastime, baseball. Jerry Lee Lewis rounds up those that began their adventures on this day and went on to create many after. Jerry Lee Lewis lived the spirit of adventure and played it into his music. Not one to take the path of the ordinary or expected, Lewis’ adventures always created a stir in his life.

Today consider our adventure and know whatever path we take, we can always choose to ask Joy along.

Today is the birthday of Confucius born 551 BCE, a scholar, a teacher and a social philosopher with a specialty in moral and ethical conduct. He was born to a noble family that had fallen on hard times so he worked through a variety of positions from shepherd to clerk. After resigning a Justice Minister position he found an importance in teaching and traveled extensively in northeast and central China using teachings from the text of the five classics. His moral teachings emphasized self cultivation, a life of moral example and skilled judgment over the knowledge of rules.

To live by the simple moral codes that Confucius offers one would require a necessary conversation with the heart with some regularity. Meditation offers this as does the simple act of breathing, which is an meditation in itself. A joy filled being is usually in touch with the heart more often and so it would seem that touching the heart with a joyful remembrance each day would be a step toward the balanced life. Today touch the space within and give permission to do as Confucius suggests…go with the heart in everything we do.

Today is the celebration of World Heart Day honoring that pulsing beating organ of life that seems to effortlessly go about its business day after day. This is a day of consciousness of heart care to take a moment and care for this vital instrument that brings the animation to the body. While the Heart Organizations primarily focus on physical well being there is also the message of emotional, mental and spiritual well being that directly affect this one central functioning vessel in our body. Care for the whole body is the reminder for the day and this world celebration rings a bell of awareness for us all to pay attention to. Mind the messages of the body and cull the care for the heart knowledgeably.

Consider today what would nourish and cleanse and nurture our hearts. What obstacles are in our way, what clutter has developed in our physical pathway that is building in our arteries? Breath in a moment of joy and move an obstacle today for ourselves then see where we can clear one for the world. Consider polishing and refueling something that could be of assistance in making our lives function better and do the same within. Keep the heart message strong with a regular massage of mirth and however we proceed throughout the day let us remember to fill our vessels with joy before we deploy.

Today is the birthday of John Chapman, better known to the world as Johnny Appleseed. He was born in 1774 and by the age of 18 headed to the Ohio valley from Massachusettes with a knowledge of nursery skills and a missionary spirit. He began planting seeds of the apple trees in the Ohio area and over time emerged farther into Indiana and Illinois regions. He actually built orchards and left them in the care of managers with an altruistic attitude for them to prosper by. Overtime multitudes of these orchards emerged and while his properties were wealthy he lived a simple nomadic existence in tune with the wilderness appreciating what the land would yield and spreading a joyful message to others.

The apple at the time had a religious connotation as well coming straight from the tree of knowledge, so with the spreading of these orchards and the generous good will Chapman contributed to mankind we might be inspired by his larger message of contribution to the world. Today find the gifts to contribute and note the joy the involvement brings.

The anniversary of the invention of the Game of Uno occurs today, created by Merle Robbins in 1971. Robbins was a barber from Hungary who developed the game to end a dispute about the game of crazy eights with his son, a schoolteacher.

He originally made the first 5000 decks and later sold the game rights to the Mattel Company who has gone on to adapt a host of variations.  The Uno game has sold some 150 million copies in over 80 countries worldwide.

As it is a game that’s purpose is winning by virtue of the elimination of all our cards, we can be reminded about the game of life. We begin our lives with a full deck and we add and/or subtract more ‘cards’ along the way. Sometimes we have to take more than what seems our fair share and sometimes that strategy pays off for us in the end. Other times we have to ‘sit out or skip’ when we don’t want to or have to take ‘reverse’ steps and repeat the lesson or rules again.

There are still other times when we can pull out a ‘wild card’ and when we stop and take a long look at the cards we are dealt and let go of the unnecessary emotions, we realize with a bit of a devised plan we can play the game quite smartly and perhaps in this round, even hold the winning hand. The key to winning is to let go of the nonessential and play the joy card often.

This day celebrates National Punctuation Day. Yes, there is such a day devoted to help the confused become clear on grammar and expression. Communication is the key to living among others well and reaching out with a clear message assumes a responsibility and a genuine interest in our fellow beings. Punctuation is also a way to live. Imagine the exclamation point and all the passion it contains. It can assist in letting out a joyful message and stand positive about it. The period will end the statement so it doesn’t have to go on forever. When it’s done, it’s done! That’s wonderful!

The comma allows us to pause in reflection and consider perhaps our choices. Quoting can give us wonderful inspirations for when we don’t have the feeling ourselves. Questioning can teach us and when we perhaps want to add more depth a parenthesis can add more content and enrich our meaning. 

Today live a punctuated life, using grammar to give ourselves a greater dimension… let the ellipsis remind us that we are a work in progress and today is another opportunity to add to the story.

Let the inspiration of Siegfried and Roy be ours today marveling at the imagination and creativity that they allowed to inspire them in developing the magical world of delight and possibility they were proud to share with the world. Partnering in 1959 on a German ocean liner they began their act with Seigfried as a Magician and Roy as his assistant. From their they went on to build a vision that included the white tigers they became famous for. Roy Horn was severly wounded and the perseverance and strength of relationship and character that both displayed created a return to stage for a final bow earlier this year.

Be inspired by the vision or be inspired by the collaboration they created. They lived a life of magic and fantasy and when reality came barging in, they continued their dedication and collaboration on a different stage. Inspiration has a way of building excitement and that has a way embedding itself into the body. A body living with excitement is one of vitality and well being.
